KEY RULES AND UNDERTAKINGS

All sheep and lambs must be tagged with UK flock number and individually.

1. All exhibitors must have Public Liability Insurance.
2. No entry will be accepted unless it is on an official form and accompanied by the correct fee.
3. The Judge’s decision will be final.
4. Sheep are the responsibility of their owner and the Society cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or injury to sheep, property or vehicles.
5. There must be competition in all classes and The Society reserves the right to Create or Amalgamate classes depending on entries, and restrict the prize money in the event of insufficient entries.
6. Sheep must by penned by 9.00am and must be kept on the show ground until 5.00pm.
7. Please state on entry form if sheep are accredited.
8. It is recommended that all sheep brought to the show ground be protected from sheep scab.
9. The Society reserve the right to refuse entry of any sheep showing indications of any contagious disease.
10. Sheep in Fat Lamb and Young Handler classes cannot be shown in any other class.
11. ENTRIES: Must be sent on the enclosed form and returned to the Sheep Section Secretary with a cheque, made payable to The Halifax Agricultural Society Ltd. For Cheque payments £5.00 or under please add £1 to cover the bank charges we have to pay to process a cheque

FURTHER INFORMATION

1. Entry Fee: £2.50 per entry.
2. Entries close 30th July 2026 (late entries – £1 extra per sheep).
3. Prize money will be allocated as follows: 1^st – £8, 2^nd – £5, 3^rd – £3, Rosette for 4^th.
4. Prize money for Young Handler classes will be allocated as follows: 1^st – £5, 2^nd – £4, 3^rd – £3, 4^th – £2, ‘Well Done’ Rosette for 5^th, 6^th
5. Each child will receive a bag of sweets in classes 1 – 3.
6. Sadly, due to the lack of exhibitors the Hampshire Down class has been cancelled, any exhibits of Hampshires please enter in Any Other Pure or Continental.
7. Tickets will be issued on the basis of 2 per exhibitor. Additional tickets can be purchased at the reduced rate of £8 each when paid for with the entries. Please state number required on the entry form and include payment with your entry fees.
